How to reach Eskişehir

Eskişehir is located at the northwestern part of Turkey and easy to reach from İstanbul and Ankara. Please find below travel details both from Ankara and Istanbul. Please note that for those participants arriving at Ataturk Airport only, there will be an attendant charged with guiding the participants to Eskisehir.

If you think you might need help with local transportation (transfer from airport to bus station, reservation or purchase of your tickets to Eskişehir, etc.) please get in touch with Onur Şahin.

From İstanbul

There are two international airports in İstanbul;  Atatürk Airport located at the European side, and Sabiha Gökçen Airport at the Anatolian side. If you arrive at Atatürk Airport, there are regular metro and bus services running from  6:00 am to 00:05 am that will take you directly to Esenler Otogar (central bus station). If you take the metro, get off at the Otogar station (the 10th stop, see the map) and take the stairs up to the Central Bus Station. The journey takes around 20-25 minutes. From the bus station you can take an Intercity bus to Eskisehir. Turkey has a great network of intercity buses. Almost all buses are equipped with TV, internet access, and complimentary food and drink services. There are many bus companies you may take to Eskişehir two of which are

Kamil Koç,

İsmail Ayaz.

If you arrive at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, you can get to Pendik Train Station from which you can arrive at Eskisehir. Unfortunately, at the moment, you need to take a taxi to the train station which costs approximately 30 TL. The train journey to Eskişehir takes around 2 1/2 hours, however the last train to Eskişehir is at 19:20, so you need to arrange your travel itinerary accordingly.

From Ankara

When you arrive Esenboğa airport, you may take the city bus services to get to the Central Train Station from which you can arrive at Eskişehir in 90 minutes. You may also take a bus from the Central Bus Station (AŞTİ), but we do not recommend this due to the journey time.
